Kishoregonj District | Information At A Glance
Kishoregonj is a district which is really beautiful by its versatile nature. The history of kishoregonj is very ancient and the heritage of this district is widely extended. At the administrative view, kishoregonj is one of the biggest districts of Bangladesh and well known too.
Kishorejonj is a district which was derived from the greatest Mymensing. The greatest Mymensing was created on 01 May in 1787.
Kishoregonj district was a zone of the state named Kamrup at the very early age of Indian Subcontinent. Then Gupto, Barmon, Pal and Sen dynasty reign over Kishoregonj. But none of these dominate on this area completely. 
At the time of Middle era, when the Alauddin Hossain Shah (1493 – 1519) are reigning over Kishoregonj the Islam was established. When the emperor Akbor toke the domination of Kishoregonj, it completely transferred to a Islamic District.
The Kishoregonj subdivision was firstly created in 1860. The first administrator of Kishoregonj subdivision was Mr. Bokshel. At the last edges of the eighteenth century the Kishoregonj district was introduced by the name like “Katkhali”.
So, how the Kishoregonj name was created?
There were a landlord named “Brozkishore Pramanik/ NondoKishore Pramanik” in Kishoregonj. By taking a part of name like “Kishore” and his built Haat or Baazar which Bengali meaning is “gonj” the name of Kishoregonj was created.
At the first time the Kishoregonj has 3 Thana. But later, on 01 February in 1984 Kishoregonj was divided in 13 Thana.
The first DC of Kishoregonj was Mr. M A Mannan.
Celebrities & Personalities of Kishorgonj:
The first poetess of Bangla Poetry named “Chondraboti” was borne at Kishoregonj. Some famous people like Moharaz Toilokkonath, Barrister Vupesh Gupto, Nogen Sarker, Bibren Chakraborti, Jamiat Ali, Wali Newaz Khan, Rebti Barman was borne kishoregonj.
Some other great people who have brighten Kishoregonj district by their educational & cultural light. These are – Nirud Chandra Chowdury, Upendro Kishore Roy Chowdhury, Sukumar Roy, Shilpacharzo Joinul Abedin, Said Nazrul Islam, Dr. Osman Gani, Sukumar Nondi, Hami Uddin Ahmed ( Khan), Advocate Abdul Hamid, Zillur Rahmanm Ketharnath Majumder, Anondomohon Basu, Shamim Ara Nipa, Elias Kanchon, Rizia Parvin & Industrialist Johurul Is
The best heritage and attractive place of Kishorgonj is “Shulakia Eid-Gah Moidan”. The area of this Eid Field is almost 6.61 acres and more than 2 lac Muslims offers Eid prayers in every Eid.

i feel very much proud as a inhabitant of kishoregonj.
I feel proud to borne at Kishoregonj as we have some famous great people who have brighten the Kishoregonj district by their educational & cultural light like Industrialist Jahurul Islam, Sukumar Roy, Shilpacharzo Joinul Abedin, Said Nazrul Islam, Dr. Osman Gani, Sukumar Nondi, Hami Uddin Ahmed ( Khan), Advocate Abdul Hamid, Zillur Rahmanm , Anondomohon Basu, Shamim Ara Nipa, Elias Kanchon & Rizia Parvin was borne Kishoregonj. And we need some more great people like above frequently as a long time been passed no great come out as a great fellow. It is the really crisis and if the situation going on like this way then we have to face problem like tribal people as they don’t have lighted people.
