Why Bangladesh Are Not Being Developed As Per Our Expectation?

by Bangladeshi Information Notifier

More than 40 years have already been passed since Bangladesh got freedom from the Pakistan. This is the 4th time the Democratic Government are governing this Country. But I am to say with a great sorrow that, Bangladesh is not developing as how fast we expect. There is no doubt about the possibilities and resources of Bangladesh. Bangladesh is a green country with several God gifted natural resources like Gas, Coal, Different Fruits, Cheap manpower, Various fishes, medicines, adequate raw materials etc. There are a lot of counties around Bangladesh with whom this country has a great friendship too. The most famous debt giving organization like Asian Development Board (ADB), World Bank (WB), International Monetary Fund (IMF) have a great link with Bangladesh government and they are in time when money is needed to start a BIG project. Actually there is no lack of opportunities and resources that can be a major problem in the road of Development of Bangladesh. But it’s really sad but true that, in spite of having lots of opportunities like that Bangladesh still being as the poor country of the third world. Some peoples define Bangladesh as the Developing country……but truly speaking, does Bangladesh deserve to have a designation of “Developing Country”?

Now the question can be raised – “Why Bangladesh is not being developed”?

Well, there are a lot of reasons that can be said against this question. Before giving the answer of this question let me ask you another question – “Where the money is going and how the money are being utilized”? Clearly questioning – how much money are really being spent for developing our Country that have been borrowed from ADB, IMF, WB or any other rich country who give debt with a certain rate of interest? Everybody knows what will be the answer. Everybody knows where the maximum money are going. Okey, I am not going to discuss about these nasty things. It’s really a foolish matter to write something about our fucked up politicians; it just wastes time. Better I mention some of the reasons those are not letting our beloved country to be developed.

1. The development projects whatever is taken; the Mr. 10 – 30 Percent arrives there and snatch a specific portion of money that have been borrowed to fulfill the budged of the project. Bangladeshi politicians, Project Managers, Local Politicians, Local Terrors, Local Leaders of Political parties are included in the Mr. 10 – 30 percent list. As some portion of money is to be spent to satisfy this Mr percentage; the main objectives are ignored there. I meant “Corruption” mixed with the bloods here.

2. The Peons, Servants, PS of the Ministers, MPs don’t pass important files without a smart bribe. So, another portion of money has to be spent there. Fancy what, if this kind of nasty fact in every development project; how much money are really being spent just to develop our country and country’s infrastructure?

3. Bangladesh government wastes lots of money behind the absurd things. A lot of resources, govt. instruments are being scattered in all over the country, but government are not giving extra care on that resources to make these useable again.

4. Lack of proper planning & budgeting.

5. Maintenance is the big factor. It is seen that; the natural and artificial resources that the Government posses are being damaged just for the lack of proper maintenance & exact utilization.

6. Hortal, Heating, Beating, Damaging private and govt. resources in some nasty occasions creates a serious lose of total national fund.

7. Lack of proper education. Yeah…it’s true. Everybody is busy to increase the people who just can write or read. But does it really help a country to be developed? What a people do for a country that at best passed from class 5 or 5? To implement proper rules and procedures to develop a project one should have to have at least a Gradation degree. And the Graduation degree holders are very few in Bangladesh.

There are some other reasons that I will mention in another post of this Blog. Till then wait……Bye for today.
